Hilton Torrey Pines Wedding Spaces
The Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines has many event spaces from which to choose (download a floor plan here). However, most weddings and receptions take place in just a few spots, which I’ll describe below.
Ballroom Terrace
The ballroom terrace sits between the Parterre Garden and the main ballroom. This outdoor space is perfect for cocktail hour because of its spectacular views!
Parterre Garden
This is the ultimate space at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. For instance, the long walkway leads directly from the hotel down to the ceremony space. It makes the ultimate entrance for any bride! In addition, it overlooks Torrey Pines Golf Course and the Pacific Ocean, so your guests will have a magnificent view of your La Jolla wedding!
Photo Spots During Your Hilton Torrey Pines Wedding
There are so many great spots at the Hilton Torrey pines for proper photos of your entire day! Here are some of my favorite photo spots of all the events of your wedding!
Best Spot for First Look Photos
The best spot, hands-down, for first look photos is the foyer outside of the Grande Ballroom. The Hilton refers to this as a “Pre-Function Area” but it’s a foyer 😉
The foyer has a section of semi-circular, floor-to-ceiling windows that face the Parterre Garden, which is the main ceremony space. The light is spectacular! In addition, the space is large so there’s plenty of room for multiple photographers to shoot different angles.
Furthermore, if your reception is in the Grande Ballroom, this foyer will be fairly private.
Best Spot for Bridal Party Photos
Your bridal party is such special part of your big day. So the entire group should be photographed in a truly special spot!
My favorite spot at the Hilton Torrey Pines for bridal party photos is the Ballroom Terrace.
Best Spots for Bride and Groom Photos
There are so many great spots to take pictures after your Hilton Torrey Pines wedding. Here are some of my favorites, in no particular order.
Lobby Staircase and Balcony
This spot doesn’t sound super interesting, but it is really pretty! There are two main spots I like: the actual staircase and the balcony on the upper level.
The staircase (left) has two flights that lead off the first landing, giving it this amazing geometry! The balcony (right) is semi-circular and has windows all around, so the light is amazing. In addition, there are spotlights that are perfectly placed to illuminate the couple for night shots!
Parterre Garden Walkway
With it’s long, leading line and wonderful greenery, this spot is pretty much a no-brainer!
The terrace near the building offers elevation, so you can get photos from a few different angles! In addition, shooting the other way gives you the Hilton’s amazing architecture as a backdrop!
Hedges Adjacent to Parterre Garden
Along either side of the Parterre Garden are two large rows of hedges that make for great photo spots!
The image on the left is taken on the left side of the Parterre Garden (looking toward the golf course). I like this spot because it has a half hedge on one side. This allows more light in and, in addition, allows for the palm trees in the background to show up.
Similarly, hedge on the right side of the garden features a narrow walkway behind yet another row of tall hedges. This spot is great for those private, romantic bride and groom portraits!
Grande Ballroom Reception Photos : Hilton Torrey Pines Wedding
The Grande Ballroom is the Hilton’s largest ballroom with seating for thousands. Too big? No problem, the air walls can be closed to accommodate any size wedding!
The Grande Ballroom is elegantly adorned, yet simple enough that you can bring in whatever decor you want. In addition, the large pre-function area is a great gathering spot for guests as they enter–perfect for a table with your escort cards!
The Grande Ballroom’s size makes it the perfect space for large, elaborate celebrations. From a huge dance floor to a stage for a 10-piece band, the Grande Ballroom is your spot for a spectacular
