It’s so exciting to share this recent formal La Jolla wedding at La Valencia Hotel!
A Love Story in the Jewel’s Crown
La Jolla has no shortage of amazing places for a wedding. For example, the business-like Hyatt Aventine to the quaint Darlington House, the jewel by the sea has something for everyone. However, in my mind there is one that rises above them all: La Valencia Hotel.
This property, rich in tradition and looks, offers everything a sophisticated couple would need for their wedding. It’s why Marie and Adam chose a La Valencia as the location for their formal La Jolla wedding.

This young boy, the son of a bridesmaid, scooped up some rose petals with his hands and gave them to Adam, as if he had mistakenly dropped them. In this image, Adam takes the flowers and sprinkles them on his head.

One level up from the lobby is a small meeting room that’s usually booked. This day it wasn’t and it opened up a wonderful setting for some lovely portraits.
This window is a popular spot for photographs, but for theirs I wanted to reimagine what I’d seen in my research. I wanted something that played with the wonderful architecture of the window, with the background drifting off white.
