The engagement session marks the start of your visual record. Not only is it a chance to connect as human beings, but it’s an opportunity to make many of the free-spirited, romantic images we won’t have the chance to make on your wedding day. It is a lynchpin of our process and we don’t shoot weddings without them!

The minute I met these two wonderful human beings, I knew their engagement shoot had to be something unique. Subdued tones, subtle posing and jaw-dropping locations made this shoot incredibly memorable.

Emily and Justin exemplified the advice I give to my clients before their engagement shoot: Be immersed in the process and dress for success! It was the beginning of a wonderful relationship, culminating with their destination wedding at Great Marsh Estate in rural Virginia.

From May to September, the east end of Long Island, New York transforms from a series of sleepy little beach towns to the epicenter of summer for Manhattan residents. Jenn and Scott spent many weeks every summer in Montauk, so it was only natural we would shoot their engagement photos in an area so special to them. A few months later, we reconnected in Cape May, New Jersey for their destination wedding at Congress Hall.

Lauren and John made a quick trip out from Texas, where they currently reside, to Laguna Beach for their late-summer engagement session. Lauren’s a Laguna local so it was obvious we’d shoot in amazing locations, like downtown Laguna and the Montage at Laguna Beach. The weather and lighting were equally stunning for their January wedding at Casa Romantica in San Clemente.
