Michelle and Travis, I'm so excited for your engagement shoot! As you can imagine, San Diego has so many wonderful spots for engagement photos, and you've chosen two of my all-time favorites: Balboa Park and Coronado!

Located just minutes from downtown, Balboa Park is San Diego's cultural hub. Its wonderful open-air design is punctuated with stunning architecture. It's a photographer's dream.

Our second location, Coronado Island, is just as beautiful. This quaint seaside community boasts arguably the city's best beach as well as the iconic Hotel Del Coronado, which can make a great backdrop.

While I'm excited to show you around my hometown, I'm even more excited to begin working together! Our engagement shoot is a crucial part of our relationship. Here's why:

First and foremost, the shoot helps you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera. I'll provide little pointers along the way to help the images look their best. So, when we get to your wedding day, you guys will already be pros!

On top of that, it gives us a great chance to make wonderful pictures without the pressure of your wedding timeline and constraints of location. It's loose, fun, and romantic.

Shoot Itinerary

Hotel Pickup

Time: 4:30 PM

I will meet you in the lobby the Marriott Marquis Hotel and Marina at 4:30 PM. From there, I'll drive to our first location, Balboa Park. Please come dressed in your first outfit. We will not be returning to your hotel until the end of the shoot, so please bring along your second outfit as well.

I will keep a small cooler with water in the car in case you need a refreshment.

Location One : Balboa Park

Time: 4:50-5:45 PM

Wardrobe: Formal

Vibe: Sophisticated, classic

Balboa Park is a labyrinth of museums and gardens. But, there are a few spots that really stand out, which is where I'd like to shoot:

*Area around the Museum of Art/Timken Museum

*Plaza and arches near Museum of Man

*Alcazar Gardens

Location Two : Coronado Island

Time:6:10-7:00 PM

Wardrobe: Casual

Vibe: Fun, playful

Coronado has arguably the best beach in San Diego. Wide open, gentle waves, and the iconic Hotel Del Coronado for a backdrop. Interestingly, it's the one of the only beaches in San Diego that faces due south, so the sun sets to your right behind Point Loma as you're looking at the ocean. This makes it really photogenic at sunset. There are also dunes and lifeguard towers we can incorporate for different looks.

That's a Wrap!

What a great shoot! Time to celebrate!

After our shoot, we'll head over to the Hotel Del Coronado for drinks and light bites at Babcock and Story Bar. The space offers indoor seating at the original mahogany bar, or patio dining with views overlooking the Pacific.
