Patricia and John's La Jolla beach wedding began on a glorious day so typical of early spring in Southern California. Patricia started at the landmark La Valencia Hotel, a fitting place for any bride on her wedding.
Anchored by her mother, sister and maid of honor, Patricia donned her vintage gown and lovely birdcage veil.
Windansea Beach, made famous in Thomas Wolfe's collection of short stories titled, The Pumphouse Gang, was in mid-summer form for Patricia and John's wedding. As surfers glided, Patricia and John exchanged vows on the cliffs.
Patricia and John, bathed in a wonderful glow, took some time to soak up the moment.
Patricia and John whisked themselves to the reception in a classic Pontiac GTO. The images of the couple in their timeless, classic attire harken back to yesteryear.
Patricia and John chose for their reception the quaint Crab Catcher Restaurant in La Jolla. Guests noshed on delicious seafood appetizers and sipped champagne as the sun set into the Pacific.
Fall is here, so portrait season begins. First up are Olivia and Luke, who I photographed last year on the beach in Carlsbad. This time, I photographed the kids portraits in La Jolla at my favorite spot and took advantage of some amazing light.
K and K's intimate Serbian wedding took place last Saturday at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, a hidden gem in the hills above Mission Bay. Their Grande Colonial La Jolla wedding reception was spectacular. Special thanks to floral and event stylist Aileen Tran, whose aesthetic put a wonderful touch on the reception. I'd also like to thank Beth from the Grande Colonial Hotel, for being one of the nicest hotel sales directors I've ever met. Finally, a big shout-out to Jose, for filling in on short notice and doing some kick-ass second shooting.

Meet Kaddie and Kevin. Kaddie is a shoe designer and Kevin is a motion-capture artist/engineer (Avatar, anyone?). Safe to say that with an eclectic couple like this, shooting their elopement in La Jolla is going to kick ass. After mulling over several location ideas, we settled on La Jolla, as we can get a bunch of different looks in without a lot of driving. Kevin and Kaddie arrived fantastically dressed to the nines and with a bevy of props, from a deck of cards to a killer wooden picture frame.
Although legally already married (they had a small ceremony at the courthouse a while back), neither of them wore wedding rings. That is, until later in the shoot, when they exchanged rings for the first time during an intimate ceremony on the beach. It was such an honor for me to have shared that moment with them!
