My daughter Emmerson grows so quickly. I made these San Diego children's photos over a period of several months. She will have a life of her own before we know it.
This San Diego Botanical Garden Ultimate Skybox wedding, on the 4th of July no less, oozes inspiration! Heather and Monty were a great change of pace from the get-go! First off, they each wanted to meet with me separately so their own feelings and opinions about what they wanted in their wedding photography could come to the surface, without running the risk of one's judgement being influenced by the other's presence. Monty and I met for a beer in La Jolla Shores, while Heather and I met at my house. During each meeting I was able to get a great sense of who they were, what they liked, and how I could record in the most beautiful way possible their fantastic wedding!
Heather works at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park as specialist for, among other things, several breeds of birds! Pay special attention to the feathers used in Heather's headpiece and bouquet, as well as Monty's boutonniere--they incorporate feathers that were dropped from some of Heather's animal friends at the Park!
Special thanks to Michael for his fantastic help photographing this wedding! Also a shout-out to Amanda from Creative Affairs, Inc., for a great job of designing and coordinating this wonderful event!
Melissa and Brendan had their Crosby Club wedding this past Saturday in Rancho Santa Fe. You may remember this super-hip couple from our killer engagement shoot several months ago. Normally, black and white-themed weddings are pretty hard to pull off, but Melissa and Brendan knocked it out of the park. I just love their style and demeanor and was so honored to photograph their wedding. Special thanks to Jamie Renfro from Ever After Events for making sure everything ran smoothly. And, as always, a tip of the hat to my wonderful partner in crime, Lindsey Byrnes, for her fantastic photography of Brendan and her great second-shooting work.
Check out the lovely note Melissa and Brendan sent me!
Melinda and Greg were had their Encinitas beach wedding this past Sunday on the bluff overlooking Moonlight Beach. Melinda and Greg hail from Jackson, WY, and fell in love with Encinitas during a recent trip while visiting friends. Their preparation areas were a contrast in decor: Melinda got ready at the lovely L'Auberge Hotel in Del Mar; Greg got ready at the San Elijo Campground (where he had just come in from a surf!). One of the highlights of the day was their dog, Pablo, doubling as ring bearer, wearing the rings on a carabiner around his collar.
